Casey, Theo and Julius get taught by the ‘Turbo Spinner’
Casey Patterson has a reputation for being the wild boy of the World Tour. I mean, just look at his haircut! Only kidding, Casey!
But at the Fort Lauderdale Major – where he and teammate Theo Brunner entered as wildcards – Casey got a lesson in the extreme with legendary Red Bull cliff diver Steve LoBue.
LoBue, who lives in Florida, gave expert advice to Patterson, Brunner and 2012 Olympic champion Julius Brink at the Fort Lauderdale International Swimming Hall of Fame.
The trio then put it all into practice everything the ‘Turbo Spinner’ taught them before flinging themselves off the highest platform.
As you can see from these photographs and our #BeachMeets video, the beach stars had plenty of fun trying their hand at executing the perfect dive.
Steve, who began cliff diving when he was just seven years old, has a 10-month old daughter who will come to the beach for the first time during the Fort Lauderdale Major.

Casey has three children – and while they love the beach, watching their dad on the sand isn’t top of their priorities.
“They still don’t care about beach volleyball,” laughs Casey. “The only time they want to join us is when we win because they love to run on the court.”
