USA’s wildcard team of Emily Day and Jen Kessy pulled out a tough win over Germany this morning in hopes of getting back into the top 3 in their pool.
Maybe it’s the back-to-back events at the end of a long season or perhaps the long flight here from China just one day before the Swatch Beach Volleyball FIVB World Tour Finals kicked off, but Jen Kessy & Emily Day just haven’t played like themselves this week. Dropping two straight matches was certainly not in the game plan for this dynamic duo. But they pulled off a huge 3-set victory this morning over the Germans, Julia Sude and Chantal Laboureur, to bring their match record to 1-2. The Americans have one more match to play through tomorrow in pool play and they hope to capture another win to even out their record to 2-2.
